Perfection Vs. Alignment

Prompt: Perfection Vs. Alignment

The closest to perfection you can ever come is full alignment with your desires.

Perfection implies judgement: it is better to be this way, or that way, and worse to be like this. But unconditional love does not see these preferences as being more or less, as better or worse than one another. These judgements about what makes something perfect are the things that are blocking you from being in alignment with your desires, from being as near to perfection as you can be.

Perfection implies completion.

What would happen if, in your view, you were to reach the state you think of as perfection? What does it actually look like? Does it look like the most generous celebrity philanthropist? Does it look like the Dalai Lama? Like Jesus? What would happen if you directed all of your efforts toward achieving this ideal, and then reached it? Would you never change again, because now you are perfect? The philanthropists, the Dalai Lama, Jesus, everyone, is always changing. They did not reach the places they reached and then call it quits forever. Their consciousnesses continued to expand in the capacity for love. None of them reached a final state of perfection, because there isn’t one.

Perfection, in such a stagnant view, would imply no more change, ever. Not from outside of you, not from inside. For if anything changed, it could only be less perfect. The entire Universe would have to cool down to a temperature of absolute zero, to freeze forever and never move or change again. It would have to cease to exist. It is not possible, and would not be desirable if it were possible.

No, this is not how it is. There is no benefit in chasing perfection, but you can have ideals in your head, models, and become more loving in accordance with those models. When you are fully in alignment with all of your desires, this is an ideal state. It is a state of complete acceptance, in which you are fully honest with yourself and with all relevant parties in the world about your desires, and your intentions and actions are directed toward your desires.

It is at this stage of full alignment where you will find there is no sacrifice asked of you in any way. You are free to love and to be and feel whatever you want, as incredible as that may seem. Your boundaries would be such that you would never do anything that would cause you to step out of your state of alignment, of self-love, because it is too sweet and precious to surrender to anyone. It is too sweet to give anyone the power to take it away through something triggering, annoying, saddening, frustrating. When you are fully on your path in every aspect of your life, your life will seem to you to be perfect.

And you will continue to evolve. The things you desire will change. The experiences you choose to draw to yourself you will do so in full consciousness, knowing that you are the creator of your reality. You will be comfortable with the constant growth and change, because it will be immensely pleasurable. You will not want it to stop, and as long as you remain aligned, it will not. Each day will bring you new and exciting experiences for growth that move you ever further on your infinite journey in unconditional love.

Perfectionism is a heavy burden to bear in the psyche. We promise that no entity out of body and no god is judging you for eating the wrong food, for being behind on your work, or for that matter, for doing no work of any kind at all, ever. We equally love the vagabond who lives on the street and the business mogul trying to save the world with new technology.

It does not matter how you choose to spend your time. Please understand this point, because it is an important one and hard to believe. Your path is your own. Your idea of perfection is somebody else’s. There is no need to stay on a path that does not light up your life with fireworks every day. That is not your path.

Your personal path, the reason you were born, will be the most fun and the most loving path you can imagine and that will fill your soul more and more each day you are alive. When you are in alignment, you simply allow yourself to be on the path that you choose without judging yourself for it. We do not care who you love, what you do with your body, how you spend your time- if you are a busy bee or sit in a closet all day every day and do nothing at all but feel love and joy like a hermit in a cave. It literally does not matter except to the extent that you are aligned and feeling love and joy in your own actions.

When you are in alignment, you simply allow yourself to be on the path that you choose without judging yourself for it.

So please, begin to loosen the constraints of perfectionism from your mind and as they fall away, allow little moments of pleasure into your life. Find ways to add small joys that you have told yourself you would allow if only you had more time, or more energy, or more health, or didn’t have this or that person or situation to feel responsible for. The little moments are excellent practice in alignment and will not be wasted, even if they feel difficult at first.

May you be perfectly evolving in alignment.

In Love,
The Universe
