Soul Poems: Warm Colors

A love poem I wrote as I was beginning to experience unconditional love for the first time and colors were blooming everywhere in my life.

………………………………………………………

You’re just my shade of orange
A goofy, glowing fun
Your laugh a stream of yellow buds
Behind your eyes, the sun

Your hugs of amber make me melt
Like syrup from the trees
Your footsteps leave a lemon trail
For swooning honeybees

Your watermelon sweetness
Tingles in your cheeks
Your inner moral compass
Is a daring scarlet streak

You’re playful like a berry pink
A rosy inner child
I’m grateful that you let me see
Your colors warm and wild
