A poem I wrote during the middle of the first year of my spiritual awakening, when the highs were high and the lows were low and the end of the rollercoaster was nowhere in sight. I want to share my poems from the more vulnerable moments so that you know that you are not alone, that this is a normal part of spiritual awakening and it does, in fact, get much better.

My heart is still beating
But I don’t know why
If my ego could kill me
Then surely I’d die
But I’m caught in between
Up above and below
And until I pick one
I’ve got nowhere to go
